An all-media reporter from China Co-op Times · Tea Weekly has learned that, in order to give full play to the positive role of vocational skills competitions in building a talent training system and innovating talent selection mechanisms — and to select and reserve outstanding skilled talent for the industry’s high-quality development — the Vocational Skills Appraisal and Guidance Center of the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives and the China Employment Training Technical Instruction Center have jointly launched the 2022 National Industry Vocational Skills Competition — the National Supply and Marketing Cooperative System Industry Vocational Skills Competition — in accordance with the relevant requirements of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security for organizing the 2022 national industry vocational skills competitions. The competition occupations for this event are tea taster, barista, and beverage mixologist.
According to an official from the Vocational Skills Appraisal and Guidance Center of the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, the competition is mainly open to personnel engaged in the production, processing, circulation, teaching, and research of tea, coffee, and freshly made beverages. Personnel who have already been awarded the titles of “China Skills Grand Prize” or “National Technical Expert,” as well as those who have already obtained eligibility to be nominated for “National Technical Expert,” may not participate as contestants. The competition is based on the knowledge and skill requirements of Level 3/Advanced Worker or above in the national vocational skill standards for each occupation, incorporating relevant new knowledge, new technologies, and new skills. The competition combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills. It is divided into two stages — preliminary rounds and finals. At present, provincial preliminary rounds have already begun, with relevant departments of provincial people’s governments, provincial supply and marketing cooperatives, provincial industry associations, or other institutions capable of organizing competitions selecting contestants for each event to advance to the finals, which will be held in November.
It is reported that contestants who place in the top three of each occupation’s finals and hold employee status will be awarded the title of “National Technical Expert,” upon approval by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
