Yesterday, an all-media reporter from China Co-op Times · Tea Weekly, while riding Beijing Subway Line 1, found that the large LED screens in the passage exhibition areas of Tiananmen East and Tiananmen West stations were rolling a program called “Glorious China,” featuring image promotions of national geographical indication products from across the country, including agricultural and local specialty products such as tea, fruit, and food, as well as distinctive tourist attractions from various regions.
The reporter noticed that among the tea brands from Anhui Province featured in the “Glorious China” tribute were Lu’an Guapian from Lu’an City, Langxi Yellow Tea and Guangde Golden Bud from Xuancheng City, and Huangshan Maofeng; from Hunan Province, Sangzhi White Tea and Shibadong Golden Tea from Huayuan County; from Hubei Province, Enshi Yulu and Lichuan Black Tea; and from Sichuan, Naxi Early Tea. These scenes — mist-shrouded ecological tea gardens and graceful, elegant tea-brewing maidens — drew the attention of passersby, and some passengers even stopped to watch and take photos.
Hunan Sangzhi White Tea
The reporter learned from Beijing Subway Tongcheng Advertising Company that, to comprehensively showcase the brilliant achievements China has made since the 18th National Congress, the four large LED screens in the passages of Tiananmen East and Tiananmen West stations have opened a “Glorious China” segment. From September 25 to the end of October, it is broadcast on a rolling basis daily from 06:30 to 21:15 — up to 600 plays per day — along the must-pass corridors leading to the Great Hall of the People, Xinhua Gate, the Tiananmen Rostrum, the National Centre for the Performing Arts, and the Forbidden City, showcasing the natural scenery and distinctive agricultural products from all over the country.
Tiananmen Square is a landmark of China and a window through which the world comes to know and understand China. This concentrated display will demonstrate the fruitful development of Chinese tea in recent years, enhance the influence and recognition of Chinese tea worldwide, and spread Chinese tea to the world as a distinctive name card.
In October 2022, we will celebrate the 73rd National Day of the founding of New China, which also coincides with the upcoming victorious convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Recently, the flower bed arrangements in Tiananmen Square in the capital Beijing and along Chang’an Avenue have been themed “Welcoming the 20th National Congress and Forging Ahead on a New Journey,” with a giant “Blessing the Motherland” flower-and-fruit basket placed at the center of Tiananmen Square and 14 sets of elaborately designed three-dimensional flower beds along Chang’an Avenue.
