From July 2 to 5, the Yunnan Regional Preliminaries for the 19th Yunnan Workers’ Professional Skills Competition in Tea Processing and the 3rd National Tea Evaluator Skills Competition successfully convened in Lincang City. Organized by the Provincial Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, Trade Unions, and the Yunnan Pu’er Tea Association, the contest brought together top regional artisans.<\/p>\n

Contestants were evaluated across rigorous theoretical testing and hands-on practical challenges, including manual wood-fired wok kill-green (Shaqing), traditional kneading and sun-drying techniques, and comprehensive multi-category blind sensory evaluations. Judges meticulously scored leaf temperature control, tactile uniformity, and defect detection accuracy.<\/p>\n

By refining technical standards and recognizing master craftsmanship, the competition strengthens Yunnan’s professional talent pool, driving sustainable quality enhancements across ancient tea processing communities.<\/p>\n
