On the morning of October 16, 2022, the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China \u2014 an event drawing worldwide attention \u2014 opened at the Great Hall of the People. The General Secretary, on behalf of the 19th Central Committee, delivered a report to the Congress titled “Hold High the Great Banner of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics and Strive in Unity to Build a Modern Socialist Country in All Respects.”
When summarizing the work of the decade of the new era, the General Secretary pointed out that over the past ten years we have witnessed three major events of great practical significance and far-reaching historical importance to the cause of the Party and the people: first, we celebrated the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China; second, socialism with Chinese characteristics entered a new era; and third, we completed the historic task of eradicating poverty and building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, realizing the First Centenary Goal. This is a historic victory won through the united struggle of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people \u2014 a historic victory that shines in the annals of the Chinese nation’s development and carries profound significance for the world.
The General Secretary said that over the past decade, the cause of the Party and the country has achieved historic accomplishments and undergone historic changes, propelling China onto a new journey of building a modern socialist country in all respects. He noted that the great transformation of the decade of the new era marks a milestone in the history of the Party, of New China, of reform and opening up, of the development of socialism, and of the development of the Chinese nation.
During these ten years, China’s tea technology has helped make agriculture stronger, the countryside more beautiful, and farmers richer.
