From July 17 to 18, the “Ancient Charm of Songxi · Ecological Fine Tea” 3rd China (Songxi) Tea Merchants Conference and the National Conference on Tea Quality Safety and High-Quality Industrial Development was held in Songxi County, Fujian Province. Industry organizations, academicians and experts, tea companies and merchants, and media representatives from across the country gathered together. While analyzing the whole-industry-chain development path of Songxi’s tea industry and discussing how the tea industry can develop ecologically and with high quality, the conference also brought in distinctive resources for economic and trade cooperation and business matching. As the “Hometown of Jiulong Dabai Tea in China,” Songxi County has no shortage of stories about Jiulong Dabai tea. In the 1980s, scientific and technical personnel of Songxi County bred “Jiulong Dabai tea” in Shuangyuan Village at the foot of Mount Zhanlu; in 2009, Songxi Jiulong Dabai tea was included in the provincial catalog of protected excellent germplasm resources. At the opening ceremony, the Songxi County People’s Government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the China Tea Marketing Association and a cooperation agreement on the Songxi Jiulong Dabai Tea White Paper with the Tea Research Institute of the Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, while the county’s “Three Teas” office signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Wuyishan Nostalgia Culture Communication Co., Ltd. Coordinated “Three Teas” development \u2014 from tea production, sales and circulation, to scientific research and quality improvement, to cultural communication \u2014 brought multiple parties together in strong alliances, continuously empowering the development of Songxi’s ecological tea industry and further consolidating the foundation for expanding Songxi’s whole tea industry chain.<\/p>\n
It is worth mentioning that a purchase-and-sales signing ceremony was also held on site, with Songxi County’s leading enterprises reaching cooperation with buyers from various places. Chen Jinchun, general manager of China Tea Fujian Company; Wang Wenli, chairman of Bama Tea Industry; Zhou Min, chairman of Harbin Dafa Tea City; and other tea merchant representatives all expressed their optimism about Songxi’s ecological tea industry and their expectations for future cooperation.
At the same time, Songxi County presented awards to outstanding distributors with remarkable achievements in the circulation of Songxi ecological tea.<\/p>\n

Breaking Ground on a New Path for Ecological Tea Brands to Break Through
As a national demonstration county for ecological civilization construction and a national standardized production base for green food raw materials (tea), Songxi has a strong foundation for its ecological tea industry. Driven by Songxi Jiulong Dabai tea, the county’s tea industry has been able to develop continuously. To date, Songxi County’s tea planting area has reached 80,000 mu, of which 35,500 mu are certified green food tea gardens and 6,500 mu are certified organic; about 23,000 farming households in the county grow tea, with an annual output of nearly 50,000 tonnes of fresh tea leaves.
Behind the notably effective development of Songxi’s ecological tea industry and its whole tea industry chain, the industrial value and development logic are especially worth studying. The conference also hosted the 2022 Songxi Ecological Tea Brand and Development Summit Forum and the National Conference on Tea Quality Safety and High-Quality Industrial Development.

At the same time, the forum held exchanges and discussions around the theme “Exploring the Brand and Development Path of Songxi Ecological Tea \u2014 How Songxi’s Tea Industry Can Go Out by Riding New Media Development Trends,” providing authoritative scientific support and practical development suggestions for Songxi ecological tea.<\/p>\n
