Gratitude on Father’s Day
Father is a young, high mountain
By way of his chest
I climb up to his shoulders
And can always see far, very far
\u2014\u2014 Hai Zi
Father is the eaves that fend off wind and rain, the sky that holds our fancies, the bright lamp that points the way.
He is the armor on our road forward, carrying our convictions, guarding our dreams, clearing the thorns and braving wind and waves for our growth.
That stern him, that mighty him, that gentle him, that humorous him \u2014 he guarded the tenderness of our childhood and the innocence of our youth, yet as the years slipped by, his back slowly bent.
Father is like a cup of tea: the leaves rise and fall in the cup, slowly turning clamor into leisure, and in the curling steam a life of mingled flavors fades into a traceless calm of drifting clouds and gentle breeze. That touch of verdant green in green tea always inspires tenderness. The swirling green leaves are just like us as children, when father opened his arms wide and encouraged us to get up again after falling, learning to toddle. 4. Happy Father’s Day, My Great Hero
Ripe Pu-erh, after wo dui pile fermentation, has a mellow, smooth taste and helps warm the stomach and reduce lipids.
The glutinous-rice and jujube aromas of ripe Pu-erh are like the sweet smell when father cooks porridge. Its aged and woody notes \u2014 father always says \u2014 carry the scent at the bottom of mother’s dowry wooden chest.
